See full size imageThe Safe House is a program designed for people in the local community to find reprieve from their addictions. Modeled after the substance abuse Ministry implemented by Rev. B.J. Tatum in 1986 at Canaan Baptist Church, the program was founded on February 7, 1994. Safe House has been in the business of changing lives ever since, with over 86 graduates of the 12 month program.

 Participants in the Resident program live in a structured environment with chores, studies, and devotions to fill their days. They work towards becoming successful community members who will be able to contribute to society in a very positive way in a variety of professions.

The Walk-in program offers temporary relief for those who seek escape from negative environments in their home or on the streets.

Located at 213 S. Central Avenue, Urbana, IL, the SAFE HOUSE is a haven many members of the community who sincerly wish to overcome their addictions.

Safe House is a blessing to the community of Champaign-Urbana and a blessing to those who benefit from its programs. It is recognized by the Champaign County Court System as an option for substance abuse.
