Muscular Dystrophy needs Volunteers
Wednesday, April 29, 2009
Hi Everyone!
It sounds like MDA is in desperate need of help. See if you or anyone you know may be able to help in any of the areas that Amber mentions below. Many of you know I have a form of Muscular Dystrophy and am very involved with MDA.
Thanks,
Tom

1. We are in desperate need for MALE summer camp volunteers OVER the age of 18. Summer Camp is June 28th- July4th. Summer Camp volunteers arrive on the 27th at 4:00PM for training. The camp is at Timber Pointe Outdoor Center in Hudson, IL. Volunteers need to be at the camp the entire time. They will be working with children that have special needs for the entire week. It is a very rewarding experience. If a person is interested, have them call Glenda or e-mail her. 217/351-1853 gcamacho@mdausa.org

2. May is ALS Awareness Month- We really want to get the word out that MDA provides services to Lou Gehrig’s disease (ALS). We are hosting and ALS Seminar in Normal on May 16th. We will also be passing out ALS Awareness pins for people to wear during the month of May. (If anyone would like one, contact our office and we will send it out to them)

3. MDA WALK- June 6th. We need people in the community to start teams and join our STRIDE N Ride Program this year. I am going to forward you an information sheet.
Thank you so much for all of your support. Thank you!!!
