It has just been announced this week that the 2010 Showcase of Homes site has been selected. It will be in southwest Champaign in the Trails of Abby Fields. This is a very attractive subdivision featuring large lots. The houses that are currently available for sale in Abby Fields run from $500,000 to $700,000.

I would like to invite you to our annual Friends of Santa breakfast to be held on Sunday October 25th from 8am to noon at the Masonic Lodge No. 391 of Tolono. The address is 102 E. Main St. Tolono. Again this year you will have one of the best breakfast ever eaten in Champaign County. The menu is as follows:

Eggs scrambled or fried, bacon and sausage links or patties, biscuits and gravy. pancakes, hash browns and toast. Milk, orange juice and coffee.

The Masonic Lodge 391 each year donates all of it profits from the breakfast to Friends of Santa. The cost is Donation! Please spread the word and bring all of your hungry friends to support this wonderful cause.

Friends of Santa is celebrating its 23rd year of helping kids in Unit 7 to make sure they have a Christmas of memories and gifts. Thank you to all of you who have made this possible throughout the years. It takes a Village to raise a child.

Carbon Monoxide Detector Recall

All Nighthawk carbon monoxide detectors from Nov. 8, 1998 through March 9, 1999 have been recalled. The manufacturing date is on the back of the unit as year, month, day. "NIGHTHAWK" and "Carbon Monoxide Alarm" are written on the front of the unit. If "Carbon Monoxide Detector" is written on the front, the unit is operating properly and is not part of the recall. The problem is that they alarm you to late or not at all. Remember carbon monoxide is the same weight as air with the exception when the air temperature is 60.0F or less. Now carbon monoxide settles eighteen inches above the ground. Plug in type with a digital read out are recommend.

Carbon Monoxide
